Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of ten are give a value of their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they only depict the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 will have a total score of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card can be given depending on the following guidelines:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money less a five % commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie generally pays out at eight to one and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen less than one every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When done effectively, baccarat provides fairly good odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Monitoring of old results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and almost certainly most successful technique is the one-3-two-6 technique. This process is employed to build up earnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
