Baccarat Principles

Punto banco is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are valued at their printed value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the first number is ignored. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (5 plus 6 = eleven; ditch the 1st ‘one’).

A additional card might be given out using the following rules:

- If the player or bank has a score of eight or nine, the two players stay.

- If the player has less than five, she hits. Players stands otherwise.

- If the player holds, the house takes a card on a total less than 5. If the player hits, a guide is used to figure out if the house stays or takes a card.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19:20 (even money less a five percent rake. The Rake is recorded and cleared out once you quit the game so be sure to have money remaining before you head out). Winning bets on the player pays one to one. Winning wagers for tie frequently pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as ties happen lower than 1 in every ten hands. Be cautious of betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)

Played properly baccarat gives relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Scheme

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has a handful of established misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of events about to happen. Recording previous results on a sheet of paper is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that gave its life for our paper desires.

The most accepted and almost certainly the most favorable strategy is the one, three, two, six plan. This plan is employed to maximize earnings and limit risk.

Start by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a sum total of 3 units on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, pull off four so you keep 2 on the third wager. If you win the third round, add two to the 4 on the game table for a grand total of six on the 4th round.

If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a hit of 1. A win on the first wager followed by a hit on the 2nd creates a hit of two. Wins on the initial two with a defeat on the third gives you with a profit of 2. And success on the initial three with a defeat on the 4th means you experience no loss. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a gain of 10. This means you will be able to lose the second round five times for every successful streak of 4 rounds and still experience no loss.
