Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of ten are valued at face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly represent the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven … 5 results in a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card may be given out depending on the foll. standards:
- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or 9, then both bettors stand.
- If the player has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie by and large pay 8 to one and on occasion nine to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Even so odds are decidedly better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)
When done properly, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of previous outcomes on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 scheme. This plan is used to maximize wins and lowering risk.
Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
