Punto Banco Rules and Strategy

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are worth their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the ‘bank’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the total of the cards, but the beginning number is discarded. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a score of 1 (five plus 6 = eleven; ditch the first ‘1′).

A additional card may be dealt based on the following rules:

- If the player or house achieves a total of eight or 9, both players stay.

- If the player has 5 or less, he takes a card. Players stays otherwise.

- If the player stands, the house takes a card on a value less than 5. If the player hits, a guide is employed to see if the house stands or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the bank pay out nineteen to Twenty (equal cash minus a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and paid off when you quit the table so ensure you have funds left before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning bets for a tie normally pay 8:1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than 1 in every ten rounds. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)

Played correctly punto banco provides relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games punto banco has a few accepted misunderstandings. One of which is close to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of future actions. Recording past results on a sheet of paper is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary desires.

The most established and possibly the most successful course of action is the one-three-two-six technique. This method is employed to maximize profits and limit risk.

Begin by placing one chip. If you win, add another to the 2 on the table for a total of three units on the second bet. Should you win you will hold six on the game table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. Should you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you do not win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A win on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the 2nd causes a hit of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a defeat on the third provides you with a gain of two. And wins on the initial 3 with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Winning all 4 wagers gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to not win on the 2nd round five instances for each successful run of 4 rounds and in the end, experience no loss.
