Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under ten are said to be worth face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only depict the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 … five gives a total score of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the following practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay 8 to one and on occasion nine to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties occur lower than one every ten hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. However odds are somewhat better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat offers generally good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of past results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and feasibly most successful technique is the 1-three-two-six technique. This tactic is employed to build up winnings and limiting risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
