Baccarat Regulations and Scheme

Baccarat Principles

Baccarat banque is wagered on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at their printed value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The score for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, although the first number is dropped. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (5 plus six equals eleven; ditch the first ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be dealt using the rules below:

- If the gambler or banker gets a total of 8 or nine, both players stay.

- If the gambler has less than five, she hits. Players holds otherwise.

- If the player holds, the bank takes a card on 5 or less. If the player hits, a guide is employed to decide if the house stays or takes a card.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The better of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even payout less a 5 percent commission. Commission are kept track of and cleared out when you quit the table so make sure you still have money left just before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pay one to one. Winning wagers for tie usually pays out at eight to one but sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

Bet on correctly baccarat gives fairly good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Method

As with all games Baccarat has quite a few established false impressions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of future outcomes. Recording past results on a chart is a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and almost certainly the most favorable strategy is the one, three, two, six plan. This technique is used to maximize earnings and minimizing risk.

Start by wagering one unit. If you succeed, add 1 more to the 2 on the game table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. If you succeed you will retain 6 on the table, pull off 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, deposit 2 on the 4 on the game table for a grand total of six on the fourth bet.

Should you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by a hit on the 2nd causes a hit of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a take of two. And success on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning at all four bets gives you with 12, a take of ten. This means you can squander the 2nd round 5 times for each favorable streak of 4 bets and in the end, break even.
