Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are valued at face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 gives a total score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card can be played depending on the foll. rules:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay out 8 to one and on occasion 9 to one. (This is not a good bet as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. Nevertheless odds are generously better – nine to one versus 8 to one)

Played properly, baccarat offers generally good odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and possibly most successful technique is the one-3-two-6 method. This schema is employed to accentuate payouts and reducing risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
