Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of 10 are of their printed value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only represent the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and five will have a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be given out depending on the following guidelines:
- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or 9, both bettors stand.
- If the player has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have cash left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 and on occasion nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties will happen less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are positively better – nine to one versus 8 to 1)
Played smartly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future outcomes. Monitoring of prior outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most common and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-3-2-six technique. This method is deployed to boost earnings and limiting risk.
Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
