Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are give a value of their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly represent the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 … 5 has a tally of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be given depending on the foll. practices:
- If the gambler or banker has a score of eight or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1.
