Baccarat Banque Rules and Plan

Punto Banco Rules

Baccarat chemin de fer is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are worth their printed number while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The score for every hand is the sum of the two cards, however the beginning digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 5 and six has a total of 1 (5 plus six = eleven; ignore the first ‘one’).

A additional card can be given based on the rules below:

- If the gambler or bank gets a total of 8 or 9, the two players stay.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. Players otherwise stand.

- If the gambler stands, the bank hits on 5 or less. If the player takes a card, a table is employed to see if the banker holds or takes a card.

Punto Banco Odds

The greater of the 2 totals wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (equal cash minus a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and paid off once you leave the game so be sure to still have funds around just before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie normally pays out at 8:1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9:1 vs. eight to one)

Wagered on correctly baccarat provides pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games Baccarat has quite a few familiar misconceptions. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future actions. Tracking past results on a page of paper is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.

The most established and probably the most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This method is employed to pump up winnings and minimizing losses.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add another to the 2 on the game table for a sum of 3 units on the second bet. Should you win you will retain six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. Should you win the 3rd round, add 2 on the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th round.

If you don’t win on the first round, you take a loss of one. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of two. Success on the 1st 2 with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a gain of 2. And wins on the first three with a defeat on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning all 4 bets gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to lose the second round 5 instances for each favorable streak of 4 bets and still balance the books.
