Baccarat Policies and Strategy
Punto Banco Policies
Punto banco is gambled on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards under ten are counted at their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the total of the cards, although the first digit is dropped. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of 1 (5 plus six = 11; drop the first ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be given based on the rules below:
- If the player or house achieves a value of 8 or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has less than 5, she takes a card. Players otherwise hold.
- If the gambler stands, the house hits on a total less than five. If the player takes a card, a chart is used to figure out if the house holds or hits.
Punto Banco Odds
The better of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you quit the table so make sure you still have funds remaining before you depart). Winning wagers on the player pay one to one. Winning wagers for a tie usually pays 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a awful bet as ties happen less than 1 in every ten hands. Avoid gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9:1 versus 8:1)
Bet on correctly baccarat chemin de fer offers fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Course of Action
As with all games punto banco has quite a few common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of future actions. Keeping track of past results at a table is a poor use of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most familiar and likely the most successful course of action is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is deployed to build up winnings and limit losses.
Start by placing 1 dollar. If you succeed, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three chips on the second bet. If you succeed you will retain 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd bet. Should you come away with a win on the 3rd wager, put down 2 on the four on the game table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth round.
If you don’t win on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Success on the first 2 with a hit on the 3rd gives you with a profit of two. And success on the initial 3 with a hit on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all 4 wagers leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you will be able to not win on the 2nd bet 5 instances for every successful streak of four wagers and in the end, experience no loss.
