Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of ten are give a value of their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply act as the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven as well as 5 results in a total score of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the foll. standards:

- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or 9, both players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie commonly pays 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Regardless odds are considerably better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When done accurately, baccarat presents fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is surely not a predictor of future actions. Tracking of previous results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful strategy is the one-3-two-six method. This technique is deployed to magnify payout and lowering risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
