Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under 10 are of their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven as well as five gives a value of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be given out depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pays eight to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a terrible bet as ties will occur less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try laying money on a tie. Still, odds are supremely better – 9 to one versus 8 to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, away from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of old conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-three-2-6 concept. This process is employed to pump up profits and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
