Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are said to be worth face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply represent the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven … five produces a score of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be given out depending on the following guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie generally pay 8 to one but occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Stay away from putting money on a tie. However odds are remarkably better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)

Played effectively, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future actions. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful strategy is the 1-3-two-six concept. This technique is used to boost payout and minimizing risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
