Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they purely act as the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for every hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 has a value of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card might be given out depending on the foll. rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart might be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious stakes on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie normally pay 8 to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is an awful bet as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are decidedly better – nine to one versus eight to 1)

When done correctly, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, away from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Tracking of last results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and possibly most successful technique is the one-three-two-6 scheme. This schema is deployed to build up winnings and cutting back risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
